Accessibility Declaration in accordance with the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG)
Carl-Auer für Systeme Verlag GmbH strives to make its website and mobile applications barrier-free in accordance with national legislation. The basis for this is the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) in conjunction with the EU Directive (EU) 2019/882, as well as the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 on conformity level AA.
Scope
This accessibility statement applies to the website as well as its subpages and, if applicable, other associated digital offers.
Status of compatibility with the requirements
The website and its mobile applications are partially compatible with the requirements of the BFSG, since the contents listed below are not or only restricted to barrier-free.
Non-accessible content
Some areas of this website and, if applicable, the app are not completely accessible. Here are three fictitious examples that do not currently meet the requirements:
- Non-accessible PDF documents
- Older PDF documents (created before 2025) do not have correct semantic structure, and images in them are not always provided with alternative text.
- We are currently revising the most important documents step by step and providing accessible versions.
- Embedded videos without audio description
- Some videos already have subtitles, but in some cases audio descriptions are still missing to convey visual information acoustically.
- We strive to add the corresponding audio descriptions afterwards. New videos are already published with subtitles and, if necessary, audio descriptions.
- Dynamic maps without ARIA markings
- Dynamic maps (e.g. interactive city maps) are currently not always fully usable with screen readers.
- An adjustment with correct ARIA roles and attributes is planned and should be completed by the end of Q2/2025.
These restrictions either result from ongoing internal development processes or are considered a (temporary) disproportionate burden according to § 12a paragraph 6 BGG i. V. m. the BITV 2.0.
Preparation of this Accessibility Statement
This declaration is regularly updated and adapted to legal changes and technical developments.
- Date of first publication of this declaration: June 2024
- Date of last update: 23. January 2025
- Methodology of evaluation:
- Automated tests were performed using the WAVE Accessibility Evaluation Tool and the Google Lighthouse tool.
- A manual check has taken place in addition to identify further potential barriers.
Please note that automated checks cannot detect all barriers. Therefore, we always combine the tools with manual tests.

Please describe as specifically as possible where you have noticed a barrier so that we can check and remedy it quickly.
Arbitration procedure
If we do not respond to your request within a reasonable period of time or do not process it satisfactorily, you have the option of contacting the responsible enforcement office.
Note: Currently (as of April 2025) there is no central enforcement agency for private companies according to the BFSG. However, it is planned to centralize market surveillance in a new facility “Market Surveillance Office of the Länder for the Accessibility of Products and Services” (MLBF)** nationwide. We will update this information in our Accessibility Statement as soon as it becomes available.
The responsible body for market surveillance in Baden-Württemberg is currently: Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration
In addition to the enforcement bodies at state and federal level, there is the arbitration board according to the Disability Equality Act (BGG) at the federal level. Although this arbitration board is primarily responsible for conflicts with federal public authorities, it can also act as an advisory service in certain cases.
